Holy Mass in Latin in the church of SS. Trinity Village Houses Troiano (Zono engine - Pescara)
for the feast of Easter Monday, March 28, 2016. The ceremony will be celebrated with beginning at 11:30 am. At the end of the function will be the traditional Easter Monday picnic. Each participant will bring some dish while Fontevecchia Association will take care of logistics, arrosticini, wine, bread and olive oil.
The Easter Monday takes its name from the fact that on this day we remember the Angel's meeting with the women who came to the tomb. The Gospel reminds us that Mary Magdalene, mother of James, and Joses, and Salome went to the tomb where Jesus had been buried, with aromatic oils to embalm the body of Christ. They found the great stone which closed access to the tomb moved; the three women lost and worry trying to understand what had happened, when it appeared to them an angel who said, "Do not be afraid; I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. It is not here! He has risen as he said; Come, see the place where he lay. " He added, "Now go and tell the news to the Apostles," and rushed to tell the tale to others.
The day following Easter is a day of celebration that usually you spend together with family or friends with a traditional outing or picnic, picnic on the grass, and outdoor activities. A tradition that would remember the direct disciples at Emmaus with the risen Christ who appears to them.
