 Fontevecchia Carnival Traditional Abruzzese

 

For the third consecutive year the Pulcinella Fontevecchia take part in the Traditional carnival Abruzzo to be held in Lanciano on February 6, in San Salvo on February 7 and February 9 Torrevecchia Teatina.

The Carnival Abruzzo It is a celebration of great complexity, of great historical value, a legacy unjustly diminished in favor of carnival consumerist models, imported, foreign to our culture and devoid of content. 

The carnival Abruzzo is just as spectacular than others, but vastly more participatory a feature that enables it to eliminate many barriers and make it a true choral festival. The carnival is afestive ritual of transition, transformation, reversal of the parties, sacrifice, Purification and the order of things (and nature) restored.

Carnival traditional Abruzzo presents a cross-section of the carnival as it once that you can participate in a pleasant, fun and spectacular through the ancient rites, masks, dances, and songs and dishes to be consumed at the carnival. Protagonists They are the phantasmagoric puffins by enormous hats, the funny couple of Carnival King and his wife, there dozen of festive singing of the Month, The dancers who weave the ribbons around the pole flowered.

The historical re-enactment is organized by CTT it consists of the Fontevecchia associations, Lu Ramajette, Teatro del Sangro with support of town of Torrevecchia and the participation of citizens, associations, students, the delegation of Pulcinella Palombaro and many others.


About Us

The committee for the establishment of the Fontevecchia Association was formed in 2010 and is an active part of civil society with interventions relating to the environment, mobility, knowledge and integration. The purpose of the association, in addition to the protection of traditions, the territory and the aesthetic redevelopment of the village born in 1600, is articulated on a wide range of interventions.
